Schedule automatic updates

Destiny checks for software updates on an hourly basis. But as the Destiny Administrator, you can have Destiny update on a schedule that fits your needs.

Note: If you are a Destiny Cloud customer, Follett handles updates on off-hour periods.

You can also have Destiny send you an email notification about new updates.

When updates are available, Destiny displays a notification bar. Clicking this bar lets you schedule the update or displays the existing schedule for the update (if automatic updates are enabled). You can also remove a scheduled update.

To schedule automatic updates:

1. From the District View, select the Applications menu > Setup.

2. Do one of the following:
   • If you are a Destiny Administrator, click the District Options tab.
     
     
   • If you are a Super Administrator, click the Options tab.
3. Next to Auto Update Settings, click Edit.
4. If you want an email notification for new updates, enter your email address.
5. To verify your email address, click Test Email.
   
6. To have Destiny automatically install updates, select Enable automatic updates at, and specify a time and days of the week.
7. Click Save.

After a software update, Destiny sends a confirmation email with details.
